LAGOON STILLNESS

I AM LIVING HERE with a critter.

I believe it a mouse but I have not seen it.

It seems to be eating the very walls of the shack.

And holds me wakeful throughout the night.

But the Lagoon is still.

The Lagoon is still.

The man and the boy are throwing ball across the way

And cars pass on the main street.

But the Lagoon is still.

DAVID WHYTE : SOMETIMES

Having bogged myself down in last night’s thinking, I turn to DAVID WHYTE who makes more sense to me than most things I read and combines it with beauty.

SOMETIMES

Sometimes
if you move carefully
through the forest,

breathing
like the ones
in the old stories,

who could cross
a shimmering bed of leaves
without a sound,

you come
to a place
whose only task

is to trouble you
with tiny
but frightening requests,

conceived out of nowhere
but in this place
beginning to lead everywhere.

Requests to stop what
you are doing right now,
and

to stop what you
are becoming
while you do it,

questions
that can make
or unmake
a life,

questions
that have patiently
waited for you,

questions
that have no right
to go away.

NEW YEAR’S DAY

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

You are reading from the book The Language Of Letting Go.
The New Year
Make New Year’s goals. Dig within, and discover what you would like to have happen in your life this year. This helps you do your part. It is an affirmation that you’re interested in fully living life in the year to come.
Goals give us direction. They put a powerful force into play on a universal, conscious, and subconscious level.
Goals give our life direction.
What would you like to have happen in your life this year? What would you like to do, to accomplish? What good would you like to attract into your life? What particular areas of growth would you like to have happen to you? What blocks, or character defects, would you like to have removed?
What would you like to attain? Little things and big things? Where would you like to go? What would you like to have happen in friendship and love? What would you like to have happen in your family life?
Remember, we aren’t controlling others with our goals – we are trying to give direction to our life.
What problems would you like to see solved? What decisions would you like to make? What would you like to happen in your career?
What would you like to see happen inside and around you?
Write it down. Take a piece of paper, a few hours of your time, and write it all down – as an affirmation of you, your life, and your ability to choose. Then let it go.
Certainly, things happen that are out of our control. Sometimes, these events are pleasant surprises; sometimes, they are of another nature. But they are all part of the chapter that will be this year in our life and will lead us forward in the story.
The New Year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals.
Today, I will remember that there is a powerful force motivated by writing dawn goals. I will do that now, for the year to come, and regularly as needed. I will do it not to control but to do my part in living my life.

WELL THEN, LETS HAVE A THINK ABOUT THIS ONE.

MAKE NEW YEAR’S GOALS.

One goal is to see with Remi’s eyes. The magic. The beauty. The childlike vision with the energy and commonsense to bring it into being.

Dig within, and discover what you would like to have happen in your life this year.

I would like my ankles to remain visible. To have the fluid stay off, the bleeding cease as it is at the moment, the breathing ease and the muscles firm. I would like to feel well as I do this last week or so. And even better and for the weight to come off and the thinking to remain clear.

I WOULD like to have freedom from the personality attacks and some travel and to sell one of the cars and tidy the property and get to more meetings.I would like to have the great relief of someone to talk to. I would actually like to have a lover again.

I would like to improve the quality of my sobriety which has been damaged by the traumas. I would like quality relationships with sane and well balanced loving people.

This helps you do your part. It is an affirmation that you’re interested in fully living life in the year to come.

Goals give us direction. They put a powerful force into play on a universal, conscious, and subconscious level.

Goals give our life direction.

AND FOR ME, when all else goes askew, then the Primary Purpose keeps me going . Staying clean and helping others to stay clean.

JUST DON’T USE. It ALWAYS buys me another day. So that’s the one big goal. STAY CLEAN NO MATTER WHAT.

the ONE THING ONLY CATEGORY.

One thing only – well let me think. Make it the staying clean.

What would you like to have happen in your life this year?

TO HAVE HAPPEN – hmmmmm – I would like the tension and distress to vanish.

Last couple of months, I have begun to sleep normally and now I actually feel better but I would sure like the rigid holding together to disappear.

What would you like to do, to accomplish?

I would like to stay in one place , with travel, more meetings and increased health.

What good would you like to attract into your life?

I would like to attract wellness – a feeling of wellness – spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally as well as in my dealings with people and in my affairs.

What particular areas of growth would you like to have happen to you?

Hmmm – again. I would like to see the self pity go and my relationships with other people improve especially as regards taking better care of myself and my time.

What blocks, or character defects, would you like to have removed?

Self pity and despair.

What would you like to attain? Little things and big things?

Peace. Joy. An interest. A contentment. Health and fitness.

A gardener and helper. A Friend. $1000 for one of the cars. Caravan cleaned and fitted out.

A new camera and an iPad or equivalent.

A happy relationship with each of my loved ones.

A gentler tongue but stronger character.

Where would you like to go?

I would like to go to EDEN, SYDNEY, BRISBANE, TWEEED AND GOLD COAST, AIRLIE BEACH, MACKAY, LISMORE AND BYRON AND NEW ZEALAND.

What would you like to have happen in friendship and love?

I would like to have someone to love again. I would like a companion and friend. I would like to  have a shoulder to rest upon. I would like to be less open to foolish friendships .

What would you like to have happen in your family life?

I would like us all to live closer. I would like to butt in less and simply love and enjoy and be with them. I would like all ill feeling to vanish and I would like to learn to hug and cuddle and behave like an Elder, a Grandmother and Mother.

Remember, we aren’t controlling others with our goals – we are trying to give direction to our life.

What problems would you like to see solved?

The cars. Health. Getting to enough meetings. Seeing the Eden people and Saf more often. Yard maintenance. My difficulties with people.

What decisions would you like to make?

Hmmm. Hey this is hard work. Trying to capture the essence.

I would like to make decisions about the cars, home and – ah. One big decision I need to make is about whether or not I take the Harvoni for Hep C.

What would you like to happen in your career?

I am RETIRED but I would like work of interest. Like Elder in a rehab or something I have not yet thought of.

Then again I would like to go fishing.

What would you like to see happen inside and around you?

Inside- I would like to see peace and strength come and faith.

Outside – A little more I can do. More meetings available. And my home in order and secure.

DONE – but I don’t like the feel of it. Nonetheless – it is DONE.

TIME FOR BED.

LET IT ALL GO.

Pope Francis’ 10 New Year’s Resolutions for You | Word On Fire

Have you made any New Year’s resolutions for 2016? If not, there’s still time, and Pope Francis has some ideas for you. These are the ten things that he called upon Vatican employees to do:1. “Take care of your spiritual life, your relationship with God, because this is the backbone of everything we do and everything we are.”2. “Take care of your family life, giving your children and loved ones not just money, but most of all your time, attention and love.” 3. “Take care of your relationships with others, transforming your faith into life and your words into good works, especially on behalf of the needy.” 4. “Be careful how you speak, purify your tongue of offensive words, vulgarity and worldly decadence.” 5. “Heal wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness, forgiving those who have hurt us and medicating the wounds we have caused others.” 6. “Look after your work, doing it with enthusiasm, humility, competence, passion and with a spirit that knows how to thank the Lord.” 7. “Be careful of envy, lust, hatred and negative feelings that devour our interior peace and transform us into destroyed and destructive people.” 8. “Watch out for anger that can lead to vengeance; for laziness that leads to existential euthanasia; for pointing the finger at others, which leads to pride; and for complaining continually, which leads to desperation.” 9. “Take care of brothers and sisters who are weaker … the elderly, the sick, the hungry, the homeless and strangers, because we will be judged on this.”10. “Making sure your Christmas is about Jesus and not about shopping.” It’s a good list: it’s clearly rooted in Catholic teachings, but presented in a way that non-Catholics can embrace (I discovered this list via a Protestant friend who had posted it on Facebook, in fact). And I think that all of us can find on this list at least one or two resolutions that speak to areas in which we really need to grow.Hope this helps, and happy New Year!

A NEW YEAR

I CAN’T FIX MYSELF.lynne20aug15

I am just broken and I cannot fix myself.

I actually am kaput. I don’t know whether anyone else knows it but I do. Afraid to go outside. Afraid of driving because the 2nd car overheated as well. Down on meetings. I cannot fix this

Acceptance of our past, acceptance of the conditions presently in our lives that we cannot change, brings relief. It brings the peacefulness we so often, so frantically, seek.
We can put the past behind us. Each day is a new beginning. And each day of abstinence offers us the chance to look ahead with hope. A power greater than ourselves helped us to find this program. That power is ever with us. When we fear facing new situations, or when familiar situations turn sour, we can look to that power for help in saying what needs to be said and for doing what needs to be done. Our higher power is as close as our breath. Conscious awareness of its presence strengthens us, moment by moment.
The past is gone. Today is full of possibilities. With each breath I will be aware of the strength at hand.
